Whale shark stool sample

The shark, a 5 metre male, cruised Maamigili reef while feeding. The team were able to carry out all of their research including- photo I.D, sexing, and measuring. As a team member sexed the shark it began to excrete. Another member of the team was able to collect a sample of the faece which is now being analysed. The team are particularly excited about this and consider it a break through as it's an extremely rare occurrance. A skin sample was also collected from the shark.
